New from Old

This has to be one of my favourite commissions in recent times. My customer brought some old family jewellery to me, pieces that she would no longer wear, but full of sentimental value. I used some of the stones and some of the metal and came up with this ring in yellow and white gold using her diamonds. Those heart-shaped leaves crept into the design as well!

More family jewellery that was deconstructed and remade into a new ring. Diamonds and sapphires are scattered through one of my classic ring designs. Ref FR104

Three really unusual and different diamonds are reset into platinum.  This commission was for customers who live some way away, so I drew up some designs for them, they chose one and gave me an accurate ring size and this is the result.

Some diamonds from family jewellery are made into several stacking rings each with one, two or three diamonds. A single rather pretty black opal ring is added to give some colour. In 9ct yellow and white gold.

Similar idea to the rings above. Lost of stacking rings, made from old family rings using the stones and some of the gold.

One of my catalogue designs set with diamond and green-blue tourmaline is customised by adding a row of diamonds from a family ring.

Maybe not strictly new from old, but my customer wanted a “fiddle” ring in silver. She is also a keen beachcomber and finds tiny bits of well-worn sea glass – she gave me two to set into a ring.  This is the result. She also took the photo!

A little bit different from my usual style. A customer gave me this large rich coloured citrine and a brooch set with rubies and diamonds. The brooch was sent off to be melted down and the stones were put together in this chunky modern ring.
